Creating Safety & Building Capacity

Healing Begins with Feeling Safe

Before anything else, the whole person—mentally, emotionally, and bodily—needs to experience what it is like to be held in a safe space, listened to, attuned with, and genuinely supported.

To begin to feel a sense of okay-ness—not just understood in the mind, but felt in the body.

Relational Somatic Tuning is my own integrative approach to working with developmental and attachment trauma. Sessions are relational and attuned, drawing on the body, nervous system, emotions, and our relationship as places where healing can unfold. We slow down, listen to what is here, and follow what arises together.

Building Capacity with Tenderness

Trauma can leave us with patterns of protection that once made sense but no longer serve us in the same way. We may understand these patterns intellectually and still find ourselves caught in them.

RST invites us to meet ourselves as we are, rather than trying to overcome or get rid of our protective responses. We meet them with curiosity and respect. As safety and trust develop, we can gradually become more able to stay present with what we feel without becoming overwhelmed or shutting down.

This is ongoing work. Over time, greater capacity can mean more freedom, ease, authenticity, joy, presence, and connection.

Relational Somatic Tuning supports you in developing an authentic relationship with yourself.

RST grew out of my training and practice in Rosen Method Bodywork, attachment theory, Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP), Compassionate Inquiry, and Polyvagal Theory. These approaches have become part of the way I understand the body, nervous system, trauma, and relationship—and the way I meet each person. RST is the integration.

My training in Compassionate Inquiry with Gabor Maté has been an important influence on this work, particularly its emphasis on curiosity, compassion, and understanding the adaptations beneath our patterns. I was certified as a Compassionate Inquiry Practitioner in 2020.

I also hold a Certificate of Mastery, Level 1, in Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP), which has been another significant influence in the development of RST.

Authenticity, Attachment, and the Self

Gabor Maté explores the tension between staying connected to others and staying connected to ourselves.

Ways to Work with RST

RST — 1 hour
A relational, somatic session for exploring and connecting the dots between what you’re experiencing now and the patterns and experiences that shaped you. We slow down, listen to the body, and build safety and capacity over time.

RST with medicine — 1½–2 hours
Low-dose cannabis or ketamine can support deeper access to embodied experience. The medicine is a tool, not the focus; the work remains relational, attuned, and grounded in what is arising.

RST + Rosen Method Bodywork — add 1 hour
Either RST format can be combined with a full Rosen Method Bodywork session, creating a longer 2–3 hour experience that brings relational somatic work and touch together.
